Biographical note
Nikola Vladimir was born on 5 November 1980 in Metković, Croatia. He is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb (UNIZAG FSB), and Head of the Chair of Marine Engineering. He graduated in Naval Architecture in 2007 and obtained his PhD in 2011 from the same Faculty.
His research interests include structural mechanics, marine structures and hydroelasticity; risk, reliability and life-cycle assessment; and sustainable, digital and low-emission maritime systems. Nikola Vladimir has participated, mainly as project leader, in numerous national and international research projects funded through European, national and bilateral programmes, and has provided consultancy for national and international clients.
Nikola Vladimir is an associate member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU) within the Department of Technical Sciences and a member of several scientific and professional bodies, including the HAZU Scientific Council for Maritime Affairs and the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress (ISSC). He serves on the editorial boards of international scientific journals and is the author or co-author of more than 350 papers published in journals and in the proceedings of national and international conferences.
He is proficient in English and German, and is married with four children.
